There is a high anxiety bit of legislation that is working its way around the US right now, it has started in 5 states so far, but is expected to gain momentum with future states. What is happening right now is the states are trying to adopt a cross state tax to be imposed even if you don’t have a brick and mortar store in the state you sell items to someone in. It is very confusing and needless to say is going to put the hurt on some peoples businesses because they are not going to be able to compete with the internet sites that are currently not having the internet tax imposed on. Lynn Terry has done a great job summarizing what is going on and there is a great debate on ClickNewz right now discussing it… You know there is nothing like getting kicked when you are down. Way to go government leaders!  Hey go check that out and come back here and leave a comment when you are done.

So, in light of this recent internet tax, I wanted to share with you 3 ways to further monetize your blogs to help you generate more revenue to get through all of this economic mess.

1. Would be create a membership site out of your blog, have different levels of membership and a great conversion tactic to get the freebies to start paying for quality content.  You can find a great product to do this at Membernaire.com, as a matter of fact, here is what Jimmy D Brown has to say about membership sites. “The easiest way to get monthly recurring income without a lot of work struggling to come up with original content, without buying high-priced scripts and without waiting around for results.” Go Check out his site, he does a great job explaining step by step what to do. I have been going through his course for about 3 months now, and I think his explanations are concise and easy to follow. Plus he has a great assistant, her name is Nicole Dean. Look forward to an interview from her soon (This is going to be an on going thing with the interviews), so go check it out and let me know what you think!

2. The second way to monetize your blog would be to use affiliate marketing to generate a revenue. You can find many networks to find products to sell. Some of them would be azoogle ads and pepperjam network. Again, I have a product for you to use to learn how to promote the affiliate links with. It is another Jimmy D Brown program, and there is a reason I am using his products right now.. It’s because they work. He is a very trusted internet marketer out there, and he has helped my business grow over the last couple months. Here is the link to his Affiliatenaire.com program. Do yourself a favor and sign up for his programs.. You will not regret it!

3. Lastly, there is the PPC method… I would do a search in Google for how to best use Adsense to set up a campaign for your business model.  I have not mastered Adsense yet, so you are going to have to find out where to get the info that is gonna work for you. You might also want to look into Yahoo Publisher Network on how to monetize your blog. I have included the links as a starting point for your search. Be creative and come up with more terms to find the information you want to know about.

I have been using firefox 3.5 for about 3 hours now, and it is definitely faster than its predecessor. Some things to look forward to with the upgrade include open video, a recently closed windows menu item, and speed enhancements I have mentioned previous.

Mozilla the makers of Firefox claim the speed increase is double that of version 3. Not as much lag time pulling up sites as their used to be. The new open video html 5 video tag allows us to embed video directly into our sites and playback with no external applications like flash, or quicktime. Is this going to replace flash, not quite yet.. but it won’t be long before this open source ogg video codec is going to take over things on the web. It just makes the whole thing simpler when it comes to figuring out how to play videos. If there is ever a time where you accidentally shut down your browser, you can always go to History->Recently Open Windows->and click on the window listing that you had open to retrieve where you were.

If you don’t have the latest version go check it out at Firefox 3.5.

I would fanatically say that it is time to upgrade your Firefox browser to the latest version. It appears to be quick, nimble, and stable…

Well I finally found some research about the whole Bing vs. Google debate.  I am going to leave this one to the experts at Website Magazine to summarize the Catalyst Group Study.  I have been doing some futsing on Bing myself lately, and I do agree the results are very relavent.  It will be interesting how this big debate on search engines is gonna pan out by the end of the year. I am sure there will be more information as time goes on about the best ways to utilize SEO to get better listed on Bing for affiliate marketing purposes also… As I hear more I will keep you posted..

Hello again good people, and thanks for coming to read yet another stellar article brought to you by AskClintAnderson.com. Today we are going to talk about writing persuasive articles for blogs… I already can hear the questions coming in about it.  Persuasive in the respect of keeping your readers interest long enough for them to take your action at the end of the article.

This is a test in article writing in itself because I have to try and talk about this and keep it interesting enough for you to actually continue reading. lol So, there are a couple things that you are going to want to do when writing your articles for syndication on your blog.

First rule of blog writing is to come up with a Title that just screams click me cuz I want to be read by you! So writing persuasive articles for blogs is lame title I know, so lets work on that a little… I was taught once how to do this, but I still have to practice it from time to time. You create a subject and some kind of shocking action statement with an odd number in there and voila you have a headline. I added the text in parentheses in order to spice up the title a little. It kind of grabs your attention. Just 3, well I have to read them.. quick and easy right..

Second thing to consider when writing persuasive articles for blogs is the body, meat portion of the article.  You want to keep the reading lite and fun.. Maybe put in a couple of your instant messenger acronyms or something.. lol right? You always want to keep the reader engaged enough to always want more, and of course you are always sprinkling bits of quality content just to keep them reading on and wanting more.  The best situation when writing persuasive articles for blogs is when you get to the end of your article and you leave the reader hanging so much, that they have to opt in for the list to get the conclusion to your suspend filled article, but you have to deliver!  Don’t deliver in that situation and you have lost your reader forever.

Third and final tip (I know you were keeping track) is always include your call to action at the end of your article. Even if it is to tell them to leave a comment, or go opt in to your newsletter, or just retweet a message. All easy things for a reader to accomplish, but if you don’t ask they won’t do it for you, unless they have been trained on how to get link juice like Justin Brooke from Sitefling.com has taught me.  I would compare it to when you are trying to make a sale. I was at Hooters one night and the waitress wanted my cousin and I to buy some special calendar right? Well, she had this great schpeal going on, told us how the ladies get picked for the calendar etc.  Showed us the back where all the sample pictures are, and the benefits of the calender.. getting to save money on food purchases in the future.  Well, she forgot one thing… You got it! She forgot to ask for us to actually buy the damn thing.  We both walked out and I laughed because I knew she forgot to ask for the sale…  I digress, so point is, just ask for your reader to do something at the end of your article.

Better get going here, lots of work to do to get online presense don’t you know!

Talking about being like a rock! Don’t move or the house of cards may crumble… Today’s topic is building a business on a solid foundation. How many times a day do you say, man I hope that guy never works for me? or I am glad that is not me… You see it every day, people going about their business lives acting like complete idiots when it comes to conducting business. You know who they are… Yet, no one points it out to them that if they don’t change the way they treat people, there will be no more business for them. At least the rewards will not be as great if you were to not go out and establish those relationships.

I am sure I just lost some of you here, so I will summarize here… If you don’t go out everyday and establish yourself in the marketplace by branding yourself or your company as being someone who cares and will help you solve your problems, you might as well hang it up because there is going to be someone who just rolls over you. I ran across this video where Gary Vaynerchuk details how he became such a big success in his online business wine library video blogging site where he gets 85k visitors a day, yes a day!  He does it, kills it, loves it and rocks it! In the video he is going to talk about how you and I can monetize our site doing something similar to what he does even if its only 85 visitors a day.  He tells how he is out there everyday branding his web presence and building business relationships on that solid foundation, and that is making him a very wealthy man. The video is long but his personally inspiring message is worth every minute!

My success story? This is Chris here from AskChrisJensen.com. I have been working with Clint Anderson over the last month, and earlier today he asked me to do a guest post describing my success story as an Internet Marketer. Being a big fan of everything that Clint has done so far, I agreed to do the post. Here is my story, and I am sticking to it!

Unfortunately, I do not have a big sob story as to why I decided to get into Internet Marketing. I have been a restaurant manager for the last seven years. I am happily married to the woman of my dreams. We both have nice incomes. We have a nice house in Rockwall, Texas. We have nice cars. We have two cats and a dog. Life for us is pretty great. So, now you might be wondering, why? Why devote your spare time to making money online? Well, to tell you the truth, I miss my wife. We have all of these great things in our life, but the one thing that we do not have is the time to spend together. We never eat home cooked meals because we work opposite schedules. We get one day and maybe one or two nights together each and every week. It was killing us. We are really wanting to start a family, but we would both like to be an integral part of our children’s lives. Being that we are both in management, this will never happen. So I decided to do anything and everything to replace one or both of our incomes so that we could have the family life that we have both been missing for so long.

I started my quest into Internet Marketing just over one year ago. I started buying e-books. I started joing membership sites that promised me the world. I built websites, I built blogs, I built lenses, I wrote articles. No matter what I tried, I would do it, not see money rolling in, and then I would move on. Even though I thought that I was doing everything, I was going nowhere. I was not getting traffic, I was not building a list, I did not have a plan, and I did not set personal goals. This went on for just about 10 months. I was burned out, and I was ready to quit.

Somewhere in my quest for success, I came across another marketer by the name of Justin Brooke. I started following what he was doing by way of his blog and being a member of his list. I was really impressed with what he did, and I was even more impressed that he was actually teaching people what he does instead of trying to sell me the best new thing every other day. One day he sent out a message saying that he and his wife Chaunna would be holding a 30 Day Apprentice Challenge. This peaked my interest, so I decided to look into it to see what they were offering. They were going to start a contest for a chance to become an apprentice of theirs. They were going to give us little tasks to complete each and every day for 30 days. In the end, they will be choosing a winner who will become their apprentice.

So far, I am blown away. I have built a blog (and in my opinion, it is pretty impressive). I have started building a list. My list is growing every day. I am getting great amounts of traffic. I am getting unique visitors from the traffic getting secrets that they have been teaching me. I am so impressed with everything that I have accomplished since starting this challenge about 20 days ago that I have decided, win or lose, who cares? I have my own business. I am set up for success, and I know that this is just going to snowball even more. While I have not made enough to quit my management job, I know that this option will present itself in the near future.

I would really like to thank Clint Anderson for this opportunity to make a guest appearance on his blog. We have decided that in one month we will reconnect to see how we are both doing with our Internet Marketing careers. There are always minor things that you come about when you are creating an online presence.  One of those issues is getting your name out there. Well, in this case we want your name, face, and comments all looking consistant and good.  One of the ways we do this in the marketing world is we make sure we have a Gravatar image uploaded and working.  It is so important for people to put a face with a name, so people will trust you more and you can build brand with them.  In the following video I am going to show you how to add your image to your gravatar account, and thereby solidfying your online presence just that little bit more…
